The Perfect Cup

A cup made from Oscaffè’s first-class beans.

Coffee has always found itself in the space between sobriety and subversion. From the 16th century, coffee houses in the Middle East were seen as a threat to religious life. Later, in Europe, the temperance movement turned to coffee as a means of detoxing the working classes from alcohol.

The history of the actual coffee bean though, is straightforward. Coffee was first roasted in Yemen in the 13th century but may have been cultivated much earlier when the cherries (the fruit enclosing the beans) were fermented and drunk as wine.

Over the years, Italian coffee has always been adored worldwide. Even though coffee is not grown in Italy, Italians have perfected the art of roasting to create the perfect espresso and espresso-based beverages. Perhaps this is because in Italy, fourteen billion espresso coffees are consumed each year! So, get inspired by the Italians, and serve your customers a cup made from Oscaffè’s first-class beans.

1
Start with good ingredients.
2
Remember: A proper dose for a shot of espresso is 7 grams and should NOT exceed 9 grams.
3
Ensure the Italian espresso is not bitter or burnt. See that it has a smooth and excellent crema, an enchanting aroma, and is always served in a porcelain cup to enhance the flavour.
